Since 1987, Gold Crust has been Virginia City's trusted destination for bread that tastes like it was made by hand — because it is. Our founder, Margaret Lin, opened our doors with a wood-fired oven and a conviction that good food builds good neighborhoods.
Today, every loaf, croissant, and preserve still follows the same uncompromising standards: organic flour, natural starters, long ferments, and zero shortcuts. We source dairy from local ranches and keep a rotating selection of regional pantry goods that we'd be proud to serve our own table.
Located on C Street in the shadow of the Virginia & Truckee Railroad depot, we've watched this town thrive through boom years and quiet ones — and we'll be here, preheating the ovens before dawn, through all of them.
